  • A plugin moved to a new slot is confirmed against the whole chain.
  • Fixed an issue where the first message after some time away could fail.
  • General bug fixes.

SEP 23, 2026

Third-party plugins, more reliably

  • Ask for the closest plugin you own to a piece of gear and Studio Buddy searches your whole library.
  • A listen stays on the bars you asked for.
  • Fixed an issue where Studio Buddy could ask you to play again after it had already listened.
  • Fixed an issue where a plugin setting could be reported as changed when the plugin had not kept it.

v0.5.4
SEP 21, 2026

Bug fixes

  • General bug fixes.
v0.5.3
SEP 20, 2026

One yes, the whole plan

  • A send that is part of a plan you approved is created along with the rest of the plan.
  • Studio Buddy knows which tracks and regions you have highlighted in Logic.
  • Sidechain ducking is keyed straight from the source track, with no extra bus.
  • Fixed an issue where setting up a sidechain could fail without saying why.
  • A reply no longer ends on a step it has not taken yet.
v0.5.2
SEP 19, 2026

Smoother plans

  • A finished plan opens from anywhere on its header and scrolls into view.
  • Questions about a plugin chain are answered without playing the song first.
  • A saved conversation opens where you left off.
  • Fixed an issue where some FabFilter Pro-Q timing controls could not be set.
  • A plan notes any move it left unchanged, and why.
  • Replies are more consistent: a yes to a plan gets the work done.
v0.5.1
SEP 19, 2026

Steadier listens

  • Plans are more thorough and land in fewer steps.
  • Every plan and the free trial include more usage each month.
  • Fixed an issue where the playhead could move repeatedly around a listen.
  • Several plugins can be removed in one step after a single confirmation.
  • Bypassed plugins are noted without being opened, and a change made to a bypassed plugin says so.
  • Plugin windows close when Studio Buddy is done with them.
  • A finished plan folds to one line and opens on a click.
  • A track is studied once per fix.
v0.5.0
SEP 19, 2026

Studies first

  • Studio Buddy studies a track before changing it: its plugin chain, how it sounds, and where it sits in the mix.
  • A fix comes as one plan with several moves. Approve it once and they land together.
  • The plan is shown as a card with every move, and again when the moves are done.
  • Moves are made in the plugins already on your chain before anything new is added.
  • A new plugin is chosen from the ones you already use in the project.
  • FabFilter Pro-Q bands can be read and set, and the change shows on Pro-Q's own curve.
  • Multipressor can be adjusted on all four bands.
  • Plugins with many controls are read much faster.
  • Third-party plugin windows return to their own editor after a change.
  • Tracks that share a name are told apart.
  • Solo and mute changes are checked after they are made.
  • Studio Buddy answers questions about privacy, plans and how it works.
  • The usage notice links straight to each plan.
  • Fixed an issue where memory use could grow during long sessions. The plugin update is offered in the app.
v0.4.13
SEP 17, 2026

Steady hands

  • Studio Buddy stays last in the chain when a plugin is added, without moving anything else.
  • Removing a plugin picks No Plug-in precisely and checks the chain afterwards.
  • Adding a track to a bus Studio Buddy just created works in one step.
  • Fixed an issue where a new EQ move could replace an earlier one on the same band.
  • When Logic shows a dialog, Studio Buddy tells you what it says instead of stalling.
  • Long turns end with a summary of what actually changed.
  • Asking for levels gets fader moves in the same turn.
v0.4.12
SEP 15, 2026

Last in line

  • Studio Buddy stays last in the chain after a plugin is added, so it hears every change.
  • Send levels can be changed on Logic Pro 12.3.
  • Logic's built-in effects are listed with your third-party plugins.
  • Fixed an issue where some values in kHz could not be written.
  • A plugin added to a chosen slot lands in that slot.
  • Long turns end with a summary of what changed.
  • Fixed an issue where a silent capture could be described as if it had audio.
  • The usage notice lists the changes that were already made.
v0.4.11
SEP 10, 2026

Fresh ears

  • Studio Buddy listens again before saying how a change sounds.
  • Ask to see the frequency picture and Studio Buddy draws it.
  • Tracks inside collapsed folders and stacks are found on the first try.
  • Tracks that share a name can be listened to by their number.
  • Aux tracks that have been renamed are read by their new name.
  • Fixed an issue where an existing send could be reported as missing.
  • Fixed an issue where opening a bus could change a send level.
v0.4.10
SEP 8, 2026

Double-checking

  • Studio Buddy checks a plugin's current settings before changing them.
  • Replies stick to the changes Studio Buddy actually made.
  • Fixed an issue where some third-party plugin controls could not reach the value you asked for.
  • Sidechain sources inside folders are found by name.
  • Tracks that share a name are told apart by their number.
  • Whole-song requests that come with a brief get straight to work.
v0.4.9
SEP 6, 2026

Fixes

  • Plugins are only removed when you ask for it.
  • Asking to compare several settings in one go now runs the whole comparison.
  • Whole-song requests start with a set of choices to pick from.
  • Sidechain sources pick the track you named.
  • Fixed an issue where a track name ending in a space could not be analyzed.
  • Clearer message when Logic's Tracks window is not visible.
v0.4.8
SEP 6, 2026

Fixes

  • Studio Buddy acts on a simple "ok" or "yes" after it suggests a move.
  • Third-party plugin controls report the value they actually landed on.
  • After a change, Studio Buddy gives you one fresh read and leaves the verdict to your ears.
  • A track that is quiet at the bars you asked about is explained by where its regions are.
v0.4.7
SEP 5, 2026

Reliability

  • Fixed an issue where certain values were misread for European users.
  • Plugin windows open more reliably.
  • Ask for a chain audit and Studio Buddy reads every plugin on the track in one pass.
  • Fixed an issue where some frequency knobs would not reach the value you asked for.
  • Studio Buddy recognizes Logic's short strip names such as St-Delay and PitchCor.
v0.4.6
SEP 1, 2026

Sends

  • Studio Buddy can now create sends. "Put the vocal on a new reverb bus" builds the routing, names the bus, and loads the effect.
  • Sends to Bus 1 through 9 are read and adjusted correctly (they were invisible before).
  • Effects on a return that only exists in the Mixer (an aux Logic made for a send) can now be read and adjusted.
  • A knob value that falls between a plugin's steps lands on the nearest step instead of being refused.
  • Mixer reads are complete even when the Mixer was left scrolled or a plugin window is open.
  • Track descriptions you write now reach Studio Buddy on every message.
  • Studio Buddy finds Logic reliably, even when Finder's Logic preview helper is running.
v0.4.5
AUG 30, 2026

Setup fix

  • Setup recognizes Logic Pro even when the app file has been renamed.
v0.4.4
AUG 30, 2026

Play it a section, tell it what feels wrong

  • After a change Studio Buddy asks how it sounds to you.
  • Options now sit above the message box, like any chat app, instead of under the reply.
  • Ask it to mix the whole song and it hands you the first step instead: the tracks in your session most worth a listen, as taps.
  • Studio Buddy hears more of how a part moves: attack, sustain, and how fast a hit falls away.
  • Undo works after plugin changes: each change reports the exact values to restore.
  • Removing a plugin asks first, since plugin settings cannot be brought back. Studio Buddy never removes its own plugin.
  • Reading a single track by number no longer scrolls your Arrange view, and folders it opens to read a layer close again.
  • Settings has its own name and a gear in the top bar, plus Studio Buddy → Settings in the menu, so it is reachable at any window width. If you said no to audio analysis earlier, asking for a listen offers the choice again.
  • Plugin windows stay how you left them; Studio Buddy no longer nudges a plugin's zoom while reading the Mixer.
  • When Logic is busy loading a project, Studio Buddy waits a moment and says what is happening instead of reporting Logic as closed.
  • Two tracks with the same name are told apart by track number, so a change lands on the one you meant.
v0.4.3
AUG 28, 2026

Setup that gets you through the permission screens

  • Setup adds Studio Buddy to the Accessibility and Screen Recording lists for you, and says what to do if it is missing: click + and add it from Applications.
  • If Studio Buddy is opened from the download instead of Applications, setup says so before any permission is granted to the wrong copy.
  • Volume faders land where they are sent, including long moves to the bottom, and Studio Buddy reports the exact level reached.
  • Send knobs land within a fraction of a dB.
  • Plugin parameter names match with or without punctuation, so Comp Threshold finds Comp. Threshold.
  • Track reads no longer attribute one track's sends to another when the Inspector lags behind a selection.
  • Every failed action now records what Logic's window looked like at that moment, so problems can be diagnosed from a report.
v0.4.2
AUG 27, 2026

Identity checks only when they matter

  • Playback captures now keep the last 30 seconds you played, up from 10.
  • Studio Buddy no longer opens plugin windows to identify tracks on its own. When two tracks share a name and a request needs them told apart, it checks those tracks once and remembers for the session.
  • When tracks share a name, Studio Buddy refers to them by track number, and says plainly when it cannot tell copies apart.
  • The project page shows your latest capture, takes dictation, and its chat field grows as you type.
  • The overlay shown while Studio Buddy works now uses one plain sentence, without technical tool names.
  • Overlapping Logic windows no longer double-darken under the working overlay.
  • If the plugin file goes missing from your Mac, Studio Buddy notices and offers to reinstall it.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur while analyzing several tracks at once.
v0.4.1
AUG 26, 2026

Track verification only runs while working

  • Studio Buddy verifies which track each plugin sits on only while handling your request, never on its own.
v0.4.0
AUG 26, 2026

Studio Buddy hears what you play

  • Press play in Logic and the last stretch you listened to is captured automatically. Ask about it and Studio Buddy answers without replaying anything.
  • A capture bar above the chat shows what Studio Buddy is holding. Click it to see every track it caught, or dismiss it with the X.
  • Send a message while your song is playing and it goes out with the part you just heard.
  • Muted tracks stay out of captures, so Studio Buddy only talks about what you can actually hear.
  • Third-party plugin windows now reopen in their normal view after Studio Buddy reads them.
  • Studio Buddy now verifies exactly which track each plugin sits on, so duplicate and renamed tracks always resolve to the right one.
  • Reading and setting plugin controls is much more reliable, especially on third-party plugins.
  • Studio Buddy checks for updates on launch and offers a one-click install, and a short what's-new note appears after each update.
v0.3.10
AUG 26, 2026

Mono tracks get plugins too

  • Adding a plugin to a mono track works on the newest Logic versions.
  • Plugin windows close cleanly after Studio Buddy is done with them.
v0.3.9
AUG 25, 2026

Better answers when something goes wrong

  • When a plugin action fails, Studio Buddy now gathers much more detail about what Logic showed it, so fixes land faster.
v0.3.6
AUG 24, 2026

Typing stays yours

  • While Studio Buddy is driving Logic, your keyboard and clicks are shielded so nothing lands in the wrong place. Press Escape to take back control instantly.
v0.3.5
AUG 23, 2026

Studio Buddy learns your song's layout

  • Studio Buddy builds a map of where each track actually makes sound, so it listens at bars where your parts really play.
  • Silent listens auto-retry at a better spot instead of reporting nothing.
