Who can use Studio Buddy

You must be 18 years or olderto create an account or use Studio Buddy. By signing up you confirm that you are at least 18. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if we learn an account belongs to someone under 18, we'll close it.

You also confirm that you are not located in, or ordinarily resident in, any country or region subject to comprehensive US sanctions (currently Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and the Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions of Ukraine), and that you are not on any US government restricted-party list. We may suspend or close accounts that violate this.

The service

Studio Buddy consists of an Audio Unit plugin and a macOS companion app. The plugin runs inside Logic Pro and computes audio metrics. The companion app sends your chat messages, mix context, and (when needed) screenshots of your Logic window to our proxy, which forwards them to our AI providers — currently Google (Gemini API) and Anthropic (Claude API) — to generate replies. The agent can read and modify your Logic Pro project through macOS Accessibility APIs that you explicitly grant.

You are chatting with an AI, not a human.Studio Buddy's responses are generated by AI models. They can be wrong, including about factual matters and about the state of your project. Don't rely on factual assertions in responses without checking them, and review changes the agent makes to your session.

Subscription and billing

AI chat features require an active subscription after the free trial. The free trial includes a fixed amount of usage and expires when used up; it never converts to a paid plan on its own, and we don't collect a payment method for it.

Paid plans bill monthly through Stripe and renew automatically each month at the plan price you selected until you cancel. Each plan includes a monthly usage budget that resets at the start of each billing period. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel anytime online through the Stripe customer portal linked from the dashboard — cancelling takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and no further charges occur after that. We don't offer refunds for partial months; if you believe you were billed in error, email us and we'll make it right.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Automate requests at a scale not consistent with normal human use of a mixing assistant.
• Attempt to extract API credentials, system prompts, or internal tooling from the binaries or API responses.
• Resell, white-label, or redistribute the product without a written agreement.
• Use the service for anything illegal or dangerous, to compromise security (malware, phishing, circumventing safety filters), to generate or facilitate abusive, harassing, sexually explicit, or copyright-infringing content, or to create misinformation — including passing off AI-generated content as human-created.
• Reverse-engineer the companion app or plugin beyond what's required for interoperability with Logic Pro.

Because Studio Buddy is built on Google's and Anthropic's AI services, your use must also comply with Google's Generative AI Prohibited Use Policy and Anthropic's Usage Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate any of the above.

Your content

You own the audio in your Logic projects, the chat messages you send, and the creative decisions you make with Studio Buddy's help. We don't claim any ownership of your music. You give us a limited license to process your content (messages, mix context, audio clips, screenshots) solely to provide the service.

You're responsible for the content you run through Studio Buddy: you confirm that you own or have the necessary rights to any audio and project material you analyze with the app.

Anything the agent produces in your session (settings, parameter changes, written advice) is yours to use. We make no promises about copyright in AI-generated output — under current US law, purely AI-generated material may not be copyrightable by anyone.

Studio Buddy's source code, system prompt, and product design remain our property.

Conversation data

By default, your text conversations with the Studio Buddy agent (your messages, the assistant replies, and tool-call summaries) are uploaded to our servers so the team can review them and improve the product. You can turn this off any time in the Companion app under Settings → Privacy. When off, no further conversation content is stored on our servers.

Separately, if you ask Studio Buddy to listen, short clips of your playback audio are sent to our AI provider for analysis, but only after you explicitly allow it in an in-app permission prompt. You can turn this off anytime in Settings → Privacy under "Audio analysis."

Disclaimers

Studio Buddy is provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. The agent operates real controls in your Logic project; you're responsible for saving your work and reviewing changes. We don't guarantee uptime, specific mix outcomes, or compatibility with every third-party plugin. Save often.

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for lost projects, lost revenue, audio defects introduced by the agent, settings or parameter changes you can't restore, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Cancellation and termination

You can cancel your subscription anytime online via the Stripe customer portal; the subscription stays active until the end of the paid period and then lapses. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate the acceptable-use terms above. If we terminate your account without cause, we'll refund the unused portion of the current billing period.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced via email to the address on your account before taking effect; continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
