What DAW and OS does Studio Buddy work with?▸
Logic Pro 12 or later, on macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later. Apple Silicon Macs only (M1, M2, M3, M4). Intel Macs are not supported. Other DAWs may come later.
Is there a free trial?▸
Yes. Every new account starts with free credit, no card required. Install the plugin and companion, sign in, and mix. When the credit runs out, pick a plan to keep going.
Why is the pricing a monthly subscription instead of a one-time purchase?▸
Every request you send runs a real AI model on our providers' servers, and that has a real per-request cost. A flat one-time fee would mean light users subsidize power users heavily, and power users would burn through far more compute than they paid for. A subscription matches what you actually use the tool for. It also lets us keep shipping improvements (better models, new tools, new diagnostics) without charging for upgrades. Unlike most plugins, Studio Buddy gets smarter the more we update it.
Does my audio leave my computer?▸
The plugin runs on your master bus and computes audio analysis locally (loudness, spectrum, stereo width, dynamics), and those numbers never leave your machine. If you ask Studio Buddy to listen, short clips of your playback audio are sent off for analysis, but only after you explicitly allow it, and you can turn that off anytime in Settings.
Can it mix a song from scratch?▸
No. Studio Buddy is an assistant, not a replacement for the producer. It diagnoses problems you describe ("this guitar sounds boomy"), proposes targeted fixes, and executes them. The creative decisions stay with you: arrangement, song, vibe. Nothing happens automatically. You authorize each move.
What plugins can it control?▸
All of them: every plugin in your Logic Pro library, stock and third-party.
What's the difference between Hobby, Producer, and Engineer?▸
All three plans get the full agent: real-time mix analysis, an agent that drives Logic, plugin chain editing, and multi-track mixing. Hobby ($15/mo) fits casual sessions. Producer ($30/mo) is for regular mix work, with more usage included each month, priority support, and early access to new features. Engineer ($60/mo) is for pros mixing daily: the most usage included, the Pro AI model, and pay-as-you-go if you ever need extras.
Can I cancel anytime?▸
Yes. Cancel from your dashboard. Access continues through the end of your billing period, then stops. No reactivation fees if you come back later.
